Organisation - Hair

Here I have researched into the hairstyles that are quite popular within the music industry at this time especially within the Indie pop genre and have decided that I would like my cover star to have a hairstyle that is quite un-stylized to reflect a careless and laid back aesthetic to  my cover star and therefore my magazine.

After researching into a wide range of music genres I have leaned towards indie pop and have noticed most artists within the genre are usually quite unkept and slightly scruffy which is why I have decided to have my models hair in a messy and wild look to keep in style with the genre of music I am trying to approach. However, I will use products such as gel and hairspray to keep the hairstyle in place and will experiment with a range of slightly slick to wild hairstyles to identify which one i feel reflects the ethos of the magazine correctly.

The use of slick hair in my opinion will not properly represent the wild and reckless associations made with the indie pop genre and so to ensure my audience can identify what my magazine is trying to achieve I will use a stylized but not so slick hair style for my artist. The hair length can either vary to something quite short to keep a sense of masculinity within my photography or longer like some artists within the Indie genre such as James Bay to emphasize how artists within the genre push the boundaries of music and do not conform to societies boundaries.
