Drafting & Planning - Blocking

Here, I have analysed locations similar to where I am planning to have my photo shoot and discussed the different positions I am going to have my models be in as well as the facial expressions they will make.

The angles I am hoping to use will vary from low angles to reveal dominance on my main cover star which may imply have they are superior within that genre of music over other artists or a wide shot to capture the whole location and create a more profound image for my double page spread. Also, I could use a medium shot to view all members of the band while still being able to see their facial expressions. The facial expressions I will ask my models to use will be quite stern or moody facial expressions to reflect the more sombre side to Indie pop music and also the facial expressions are usually used by large Indie pop icons such as Alex Turner and Lorde.

Additionally, I looked into different positions my cover star could do while still reflecting the laid back and rebellious ethos of the magazine such as having the main cover sit on some brick stairs while looking away from the camera while holding a guitar. This could be an alternative yet still equally as effective way of portraying the cover star as a laid back and quite edgy character who truly cares about their music which is why I would want my model to look away as it adds this idea that the cover star cares more about his music rather than the media and his publicity, interesting the target demographic even more.
